PC-ENCRYPT – Useful Encryption Tool for Windows
To enjoy the functionality the PC-Encrypt tool provides you will first have to go through two simple steps that take very little time to complete. I am talking about downloading the application (that would be the first step) and then installing it on your Windows-powered computer (that would be the second step).
Downloading PC-Encrypt, getting the application off the web and onto your computer will only take a moment. That’s because the download weighs in at a mere 695KB. A less than 1MB download can’t take long to complete, now can it? On a personal note, I have to say I like it a lot when a download doesn’t take long to complete.
The next step you must take is to install the PC-ENCRYPT application on your Windows-powered computer. This is a simple, straightforward process that will complete in no time at all. The setup wizard will guide you through all the steps you need to take to get PC-ENCRYPT up and running.
Once the installation process completes, PC-ENCRYPT wants to get straight to work and will present you with a window from which you can select if you want to perform tasks like encrypting a file, decrypting a file, or erasing files. That is the sort of functionality this application provides – it encrypts/decrypts files and securely erases files. Using the application is a fairly straightforward process thanks to the wizards that guide you along.
If money is a problem, you can keep using the unregistered version of PC-ENCRYPT. You will not have to part with your hard earned money to use the unregistered version, but you will have to put up with a nag screen and with a limitation – the encryption strength is limited to 7 characters (56bits). Registration increases the encrypt strength to 56 characters (448 bits) in North America, and to 16 characters (128 bits) internationally.
